Thank you, for a fun and competitive 2019 golf season. We hope you enjoyed it as we did and we look forward to continued success in 2020.
Now the good news, our 2020 permit rates will remain the same as 2019. We believe our rates are fair and extremely competitive, with comparable golf courses in our area and we hope that you will join us once again this coming season.
We will once again have two categories of permits, Unlimited and Limited. Both permits allow you to play in all club and association events regardless of what time they begin.
Unlimited Permits will be restricted to no more than 150 members, this allows you to play seven (7) days a week at any time. A Limited Permit will be restricted to no more than 175 members and offers all the benefits of an Unlimited Permit, with the exception of the ability to book tee times before 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sunday and Holidays. If tee times are available and a Limited permit holder wishes to play in the early window they will be charged the corresponding guest rate.
The pro shop will, once again, be personally reserving the weekend tee times for both Unlimited and Limited permit holders. Please be aware that, although every ounce of care is taken to make sure that you will get a tee time as close to your request as possible, our goal is to be fair and equitable to everyone.
We will continue to offer a guest fee of $50 with cart on weekdays and a weekend guest rate of $60 with cart. The weekend guest fee will only be valid after 11:00am on weekends and holidays. Guests playing before 11:00am will be offered the Hingham Resident rate ($55.00 walking, $75.00 riding) regardless of their residency. The Pro Shop will offer a 15% discount on all clothing and accessories to our permit holders (this discount does not apply to balls, gloves and special orders).
Our Women’s and Men’s Golf Associations have their own websites and tournament schedules. Both of these schedules are attached and are posted in the locker rooms. Should you have any questions about association events please feel free to contact an association board member directly. We will also do our best to assist you in the Pro shop. The professional staff will once again be organizing the Women’s and Men’s Club Championship events.
The Hingham Scramble Championship was extremely helpful raising funds for capital improvements to the club that we would otherwise not be able to afford. With the funds raised this year we will be adding some new forward tee boxes, as well as upgrading some existing tee areas.
We have given considerable thought to our approach to the 2020 season and believe the changes will be beneficial for the long term success of the South Shore Country Club.
We appreciate your continued support of our historic course and look forward to a great 2020 season at South Shore Country Club!

Pre-Booking Tee Times Cancellation of Tee Times
With the privilege of pre-booked tee times comes responsibility. Permit Holders, must provide us at least 24 hour notice, if they will not be using the tee times that have been pre-booked. After the first reserved tee time is not filled, the permit holder will be given a one week penalty of limited access to booking tee times. Please make every effort to promptly cancel your tee time. This will allow us to make the time available for others. It is inconsiderate to other permit holders to book prime weekend tee times and not show with the number of players that you have booked.
All Tee Time Modification and Cancellations
All tee time must be cancelled or modified in person or over the phone with an SSCC representative or our Golf Now answering service. This is the only acceptable way to cancel or modify tee times.
Early Morning Play
Early Morning play off of the back nine is allowed from 5:30am to 7:00am, permit holders must notify the pro shop no later than a day prior to playing. We ask that all early morning players show courtesy to our maintenance staff and are mindful of their safety while playing. Only Permit Holders are permitted to participate in early morning golf.
Increased Fees for Both Outings and Primetime Public Players
The CCMC has approved a $5.00 increase per player for both our golf outings and greens fees on weekends and holidays. We believe this is a fair and competitive fee.
The club has bought our three (3) simulators outright and will now have the ability to open on a more regular basis. Permit holders will be able to use the simulators, at no charge for warm ups prior to rounds in season and will receive special permit holder hourly pricing during the simulator season.
Gift Cards Expiration
All gift cards won in a club or association event will expire at the end of the 2020 season. Gift cards that are purchased have no expiration date. Orders for items that are not in stock are always welcome and, gift if wish to do so cards may be applied towards dues the following season.
The golf course will remain open as long as the weather allows. Depending on how the course holds up we may close for periods of time without snow. We want to protect the course the best that we can while also allowing for you to play on the better days this winter. We will do our best to update our website, Twitter and Facebook with information in this regard. Golf carts will not be available during the winter months.
Permits must be paid in full prior to golfing for the season. The 2019 permit expires on December 31, 2019. Permit holders who wish to play in the winter must pay the associated winter greens fee if their permits are not paid partially or in full.
